Crazy Tornado Weather

It has been raining a lot lately - much more than usual. Several times we have had tornado watches and warnings. However, yesterday there were 3 tornadoes that set down in Castle Rock! It made the national news and my mother called me before I even realized what was going on. We didnt actually see them from our house, but apparently they were within a couple miles from us! I guess there was no damage luckily. I didnt take this picture - but this was seen by people VERY close to where we live. Crazy. I was actually in a huge tornado when I was living in Texas as a child. It was bad.

We were at friend's with the Missionaries celebrating August birthdays and voila - "hey mom, look at that funny cloud...doesn't that look like a tail?" It looked like it was right in our friend's back yard! Scary stuff - and that's coming from a girl who grew up in the Midwest!

A guy Matthew worked with in Colorado....now lives in Parker....emailed him a picture of one of the tornado clouds he could see from their back window. Pretty scary. Glad you are safe and well!

Here we are at the visitors center. Todd and Christen actually climbed pretty far up the dunes. We had fun playing in Medano Creek after we climbed.
