SilverCreek Week

Our Traditional picture by the SilverCreek bear

Every year Todd's parents have a timeshare week in late July at SilverCreek Inn. It is right near the Sol Vista ski area. They have been going there every year since Todd was little. They have graciously invited us to join then or go up when they cant. We LOVE it! It is just the break we need. This year they were not able to make it up andwe only stayed Sunday night through Wed morning. Todd had to be back for scout camp and I had to be back for Pack Meeting- BBQ. Apparently our car had decidid to have us come back early too for a new fuel sensor something or other. We found out about that as we were driving up but were able to enjoy the trip safely until we got back.

We were sad that Brandon wasnt with us. His Scout Camp started superearly on Monday morning. He was able to stay over with his friend Andrew to get off in the morning. Anyhow, we had a great time. We brought the dogs and they were so happy, eecspecially since we had left them home on some other recent trips. We swam, had great bubble baths, went in the hot tubs, fished - Trevor caught a 25 incher!!, rested , watched cable tv (a luxury for us since Todd's accident), played racquetball, played card games, had smores and dutchoven recipes, and went to Grand Lake.

It really is a simple trip but it is so much fun and such a great tradition for our family. Thanks again Mom and Dad and we did miss you Brandon Boy!!!

Founders Campout

On July 26th our ward had a great family campout. We went to some property of member in our stake. It was really fun --but REALLY WINDY - like crazy wind! We even tied our tent to the top of the van. It was so fun to visit with everyone and just hang out. there was alot for the kids to do and explore. In the evening there was a campfire fireside and Todd and the boys played Come Come Ye Saints on their trombones. They did a great job.

Sleeping was sketchy between the wind and Todd snoring and Trevor talking in his sleep and the coyotes howling (no joke) and a few babies crying in the AM (to be expected)

Todd and Brandon helped with the pancake breakfast. I helped my friend Andrea with some games for the kids - (SueAnn and co - we played ride ride ride that pony!) then we packed up to go. Fun times!

Another tooth gone -Finally!

Christen just lost a tooth last night. I was trying to be more patient that usual because I hate to see them dangling. However, finally I had her brothers pin her down and I pulled it. It was REALLY wiggly for those of you that think I am really horrible. She was happy when it came out and also happy to receive $1 from the tooth fairy!! She will look super cute in her school picture in a few weeks. Now only if I could convince her to let me pull a few other loose ones!!

I love these pictures - A story with the pink goggles. When we were on our family reunion Christen's oldest cousin, Austin, is a great swimmer and he wore his goggles around his neck the whole time we saw him. Christen loves to swim so now she has been wearing hers either on or around her head all over the place!!

Founders picnic

We were so excited to hear that our neighborhood picnic included lunch from Chipotle!! One of our very favorites. It was a nice hot day and perfect for the kids to play on the inflatables, listen to the live band and visit with neighbors. We have several new sets of neighbors one family with kids our kids ages. They were there and shared their awning with us. We went to the pool right after and Todd even scrounged up a few leftover burritos when the picnic was closing up. YUMMY! We werent as lucky as some friends at church who won a huge nice grill! Wow. We actually did win a puzzle too.

Trip to the Zoo

Not too long ago we went to Todd's work party at the Cheyenne Mountain zoo. It was actually right after our reunion. It was really fun! This zoo specializes in Giraffes. It has the largest captive group of Girrafes in the world-28. Unfortunately, my camera battery died after a few pictures. Anyhow, it is a great zoo - set on a mountain - alot of climbing but worth it. The company employees and families had the whole zoo to ourselves for the evening.

Here we are at the visitors center. Todd and Christen actually climbed pretty far up the dunes. We had fun playing in Medano Creek after we climbed.
